Fun Summer Ahead

This summer, we haven't really planned on doing much. And we spent the summer so far doing things locally. We have gone to the cheap and free movies, piano lessons, library programs, swimming, taekwondo, and we even went to two shows at the McCallum theater. We have also been doing school everyday. It doesn't always work out, but I try. We do math, reading, etc. I want to do more, but there is just not enough time. Ossil has been teaching summer school, so we had to stick around for most of the summer.

Six years ago we took a train to San Jose and Monterey. It was so fun, and we only had the girls, and they were almost 2 and almost 3 at the time. It was a long train ride, but the seats folded down almost flat, and no car seats were needed. Also, there is alot of area to walk around. And the scenery was beautiful. It went along the coast, and we got to see the ocean for some of the way.

We were planning to go camping at the beach for a week, but that was just about it. Ossil just decided to see what kind of prices they had for train trips to Oregon to see Mindy. We found some round trip tickets for 5 for only about $650. I am so excited to go. My kids are so excited, that they have already packed. We are not leaving for a while. We are also going to the beach a few times, the Nisei Festival in LA, hopefully a Filipino festival some where, and camping with the ward for a night. Also, we are hoping to hit one amusement park this summer as well if we can get a good price. Last summer near the end of summer Sea World had a "buy one day for full price, get the rest of the year and next year free". Unfortunately we got our tickets at a good price a few weeks before that sale, but then we bought one for Diane (our family friend), and she came with us the second time we went. So she has one of those tickets for all of 2009. If we go to Sea World again this year, we will take her with us since she has a ticket. Last year when we went with Diane, we went in Nov or Dec. It was rainy and cold, but a lot of fun!! Sea World is a great place for the price.

Even though our summer has been a little boring, It will get busy soon. And then we will only have a few days before school starts. We are going to have a really fun second half of summer. I guess I better start school shopping soon, especially the uniforms. If I wait until the week before school when we are less busy, they will all be gone. They don't sell uniforms the rest of the year, so summer is the only time to buy them.
