Sometimes I just sit here and try to think of what to write. I am not so good at coming up with ideas. It is the same when someone asks how I am doing. "I don't know? The same." I mean my life is pretty uninteresting, but don't get me wrong. I don't mind that. I mean I have a lot of interesting little things that I do, like I will try out a new recipe or get a new book, or get a new DVD player, take the kids to the zoo, work on goals or projects, or the microwave will break, but it really isn't that interesting. Last night, a friend from church asked me how I was and what was new with me. Should my answer be that I am trying to get my kids to clean their room, I have a big pile of dishes waiting for me at home, and I got a new book that I am looking for ward to reading? Not that interesting. It seems other people have a lot of very interesting things to put on their blogs. I think I need to be more observant. Well, actually, sometimes boring can be very good. It means that no horrible problems are occurring, and that can be very good indeed.
The day before Christmas break ended, a little boy in Andreya's class lost his father to a freak hunting accident. It is so sad. I volunteer in that class, and I help him with his reading. He is such a nice boy, and I feel so bad for him. Yesterday for the first time he came back to school. I saw him walking in with his mother and brother. Poor kid. He is so young to loose his dad. I know they were close. I am sure it is hard for him. I am sure he wishes things had been boring instead of loosing his dad. It will be hard on his mom, besides missing her husband, she has 4 children, one of whom is a baby, to support and raise herself. She is also probably thinking that boring looks pretty good right now.
Like I said, lots of little interesting things, but overall boring. Interesting to me, but boring to other people. I am happy with that. I am thankful for that. I am blessed to have boring.
