Sometimes I just sit here and try to think of what to write. I am not so good at coming up with ideas. It is the same when someone asks how I am doing. "I don't know? The same." I mean my life is pretty uninteresting, but don't get me wrong. I don't mind that. I mean I have a lot of interesting little things that I do, like I will try out a new recipe or get a new book, or get a new DVD player, take the kids to the zoo, work on goals or projects, or the microwave will break, but it really isn't that interesting. Last night, a friend from church asked me how I was and what was new with me. Should my answer be that I am trying to get my kids to clean their room, I have a big pile of dishes waiting for me at home, and I got a new book that I am looking for ward to reading? Not that interesting. It seems other people have a lot of very interesting things to put on their blogs. I think I need to be more observant. Well, actually, sometimes boring can be very good. It means that no horrible problems are occurring, and that can be very good indeed.
The day before Christmas break ended, a little boy in Andreya's class lost his father to a freak hunting accident. It is so sad. I volunteer in that class, and I help him with his reading. He is such a nice boy, and I feel so bad for him. Yesterday for the first time he came back to school. I saw him walking in with his mother and brother. Poor kid. He is so young to loose his dad. I know they were close. I am sure it is hard for him. I am sure he wishes things had been boring instead of loosing his dad. It will be hard on his mom, besides missing her husband, she has 4 children, one of whom is a baby, to support and raise herself. She is also probably thinking that boring looks pretty good right now.
Like I said, lots of little interesting things, but overall boring. Interesting to me, but boring to other people. I am happy with that. I am thankful for that. I am blessed to have boring.

Lisa you seem to write better and more about boring then I do about our trip to Cali. And yours is interesting. I just take lots of pictures and post them and put a few words down. I think you'll do great! You sold me on boring! love ya!
Well said! I really feel so badly for that little boy. None of us really knows when the next phone call will turn our "boring" into a trial. You are so right, boring is good, I will take it any day. The secret is to have a grateful heart, then nothing is boring.
I am so anxious to get back to boring! You are so right. Besides, you are not boring, you are very interesting, and those of us who love you want to hear about everything about you and your family, boring or not.
I have found that having a blog makes me more observant. You get in the habit of looking around and thinking "I should bLog about that". That is what we all love about it - it is real life. Capture the everyday stuff your kids do. One day that stuff won't be commonplace anymore, and you'll be glad you documented it.
You would be suprised by what I find interesting. I am easily entertained so feel free to post about boring stuff. I love it. I post about boring stuff all the time.
I am so sorry about the little boy in Andreyas class. Lorin's Best friend's Dad died unexpectedly last year and it was devastating. Poor little guy.
